Education Programs

The Warehouse Arts District Association is dedicated to bringing our members education programs that will inspire and teach skills. Below are some of the programs that have been recorded so that you can learn on your own schedule.


WADA Education - Encaustic Live Demo with R&F Handmade Paints


Watch this 75 minute demonstration of Encaustics which offers a relaxed environment where you can see and learn about R&F Encaustic Paints and Pigment Sticks. 

Topics covered include: health and safety, equipment and tools, supports and grounds, layering and fusing methods, and surface effects. A variety of techniques such as how to layer for collage, photo transfers, mark-making, incising, and printmaking will be demonstrated. 

Join Shelley Jean Art with R & F Handmade Paint in a live virtual demo. She will be showing wax painting techniques using R & F products.

View the WADA-Hosted Tour of the James Museum!


Join The James Museum's Curator Emily Kapes on this virtual tour hosted by the Warehouse Arts District Association (WADA) Education Committee.  This one-hour tour lets you seem some of the great art from the 3,000 piece collection of Tom & Mary James.

500 pieces from their entire collection are now housed at the James Museum at 150 Central Ave in S Petersburg. Emily highlights some of her favorite pieces from the Native Life Gallery, Wildlife Gallery and others.

If you haven't been to the James Museum, this is a great intro and -- when things open up again, will be a solid foundation when you visit the 30K square foot museum.  Enjoy!
